Learn From A True Expert
Lead instructor and Ohio Ballroom Studios owner, Mike Scoggins, is a 17-year Broadway veteran with a lifetime of dance behind him. He began his dancing journey at the age of 13, became a professional dancer at 19, and has almost 40 years of experience to guide your group or private lesson. Over his career, he has most enjoyed dancing on cruise ships and was privileged to have a “Command performance” for the royal family of Japan. Recently he enjoyed working with the “Scoggins Squad” at Miami University, a group of young teaching assistants who collaborate in teaching as well as an international ballroom cruise
Every dancer is going to find what works for them as an individual. My job is to teach the steps and help you find your own unique flare. With a little time and a little fun, anyone can dance.

This is a very energetic dance that is performed mostly in one spot and this makes it popular on a crowded dance floor. Look for the couple with the biggest smile they will probably swing dancing.
The Foxtrot is a classy, beautiful and lighthearted dance. It is easy to master the basic footwork and start gliding across the floor with your partner. The fun music and the baseline steps will make you feel like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
The Merengue is the easiest dance to Learn Oh, but it is still fun and energetic. As weight shifts from side to side, the hips and body create a swift and graceful movement between partners. You will be able to dance this dance at any wedding, bar or social event.
Salsa means “sauce”. All the other Mambo-originated dances come together to meld into the Salsa. It’s hot, spicy and full of flavor. The Salsa creates a shared joy while executing the sexy and intricate footwork and routines.
